Vancouver-based photographer Spencer Kovats took portraits of 30 inked men and women before and after they had peeled back layers of clothing and juxtaposed the two images side-by-side. One man, who appears to be in his mid-thirties, is seen wearing jeans and a dress shirt in his first image but in his second he is shirtless, proudly displaying a previously hidden patchwork of tribal designs on his torso, neck and arms. But in his second shot he is topless with his back facing the camera to reveal a giant tribal tattoo in the shape of a face. The body art includes a vivid mix of blue, yellow, red and green ink. Smile for the camera: This man can't help but giggle as he strips off to show his tribal-inspired tattoo body suit.
